Please also pray for the repose of the soul of Fran Emmerson (Deacon Jim’s daughter). Her body will be received into church on Monday 7 January (4pm or 4.30pm – time to be confirmed) and her funeral takes place at 10.00am on Tuesday 8 January.

New rotas for Coffee Servers, Eucharistic Ministers and Cleaners are all at the back of church – please take your copy.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Christmas such a wonderful occasion. There are too many to mention by name but you know who you are and all your hard work is greatly appreciated.

Christmas Collection: The priests who have celebrated Sunday Mass with us over recent months would like to thank you for your generous Christmas collection.

From the Food bank:

A very big thank you to everyone who kindly donated Christmas goodies to the Foodbank. We were able to make up a large number of Christmas Hampers and Children Chocolate Bags which were distributed to our clients, most of whom were families. Many people gave the Foodbank money and we have endeavoured to thank you personally. However we do know that some people wish to remain anonymous and we wish to thank you as well. It was greatly appreciated. You might like to know that in the last few weeks we have had to buy baby milk, nappies and so forth for several families with young babies. (Lynne Raymer, Pershore Foodbank)

Now Needed by the Food Bank: donations of dried and tinned potatoes, tinned tomatoes, sponge and rice puddings, sardines and cartons of UHT milk and long-life fruit juice are now badly needed. Thank you for your generosity.

Collection 23 December: Offertory £382.50 (Gift Aid), £132.82 (Non-Gift Aid)

Second Collection today is for the Parish Development Fund

At the back of church are a few copies of the new Archdiocesan newspaper The Sower. Please take one if you are interested. On the window sill are copies of the Financial Report of the Archdiocese. Both publications are free.

The Archdiocesan Directory for 2019 which lists all the parishes, clergy and the organisations associated with the diocese is now available at a cost of £2.75. Please give the money to Deacon Pat if you wish to purchase a copy.

Another Thank You: the organisers of the Angel Tree prison appeal would like to thank all those who contributed to the fund which was used to buy Christmas presents for prisoner’s families. We forwarded £115 to them.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity takes place this month. There will be a united service on Sunday 20 January at the Baptist church at 3pm. The service will be led by Pershore Community Church this year. Please try and be there if you can.

During this service those who have been training as Workplace Chaplains (Elizabeth and John Chaplin and Christine from our church) will be commissioned. Together with others from the churches in the town they will be visiting business and retail premises in Pershore on a regular basis. To find out more about Workplace Chaplaincy visit www.faithatwork.org.uk If you think it is something that might interest you please see Christine.
