Collections 11 August: Offertory £115.50 / non-Gift Aid £143.81 (Gift Aided donations either by standing order or the envelope scheme have enabled us to claim £5230 back for the last tax year. If you are able to Gift Aid but have not yet done so please see Deacon Pat, Christine or Chas Bryer. It does not cost you anything to do so.)

The Contemplative Prayer Group meets in church on Tuesday at 10.00am for 30 minutes of silent prayer followed by coffee. All welcome.

Please help the Food Bank which needs biscuits, chocolate bars, dog food, rice, sugar (small bags please), tinned oranges, long life fruit juice and shampoo. There is a box for donations at the back. Thank you for your support.

Collect your envelope: If you are on any of our rotas and haven’t filled in a GDPR form, please do so as soon as possible. Those who have not done so will find an envelope with your name on it at the back of church. If you are not sure whether you did or didn’t have a look. If there’s no envelope there for you you’ve already done it!

New Mass Time: once Fr Amal has officially become our parish priest, the Sunday Mass time will change to 9.00am. The Mass time at Warndon — currently also 10am — will change to 11.00am.

Wanted! Someone to take a large car/van load of rubbish to the tip! If possible this week.

Presbytery update: There are rumours circulating that a family is about to move into the presbytery. This is not true. Fr Amal is going to live at Warndon and the diocese have given permission for the presbytery here to be rented out in due course. However, before this can happen the house needs to be cleared and a new fire door needs to be installed between the house and the office (which will continue in use as it is now). The house will then undergo a deep clean and be let through an approved letting agent.

Clearing out the presbytery needs to take place before it can be let. We are therefore having an “open morning” after Mass next Sunday during which all are welcome to come to the house where the items for sale will be on show. You can put in written bids for whatever you would like to purchase and the highest bid wins. The money this raises will be put into parish funds for use should we ever need to refurnish the house in the future.

If you are involved or interested in working with young people the diocese is holding a day conference on 28 September. Described as “a practical day looking at how we can move forward in serving young people” it will be held at Alton Castle. See Christine if you are interested.
