At their preparation session before Mass this morning, the children who are preparing to make their First Holy Communion on 23 June were thinking about the Eucharistic Prayer of the Mass.
Following some quiet reflection before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, they shared bread and wine (grape juice!) together, and Deacon Pat shared the words spoken by Jesus: “Do this in memory of me”. Luke, who took on the role of Jesus, then shared the bread with all his friends.
This was followed by a lovely Mass in church where the children took a leading role in the entrance procession and at the offertory.
They asked the parish community to pray for them over the next few weeks as they continue their preparation for the big day .
